I’m a fresh software engineer who happened to enter the industry right as the sky started falling and everyone is running and screaming, metaphorically speaking.

Seeing all this upheaval around me and directly affect my work, I’ve decided I don’t want to let these ideas just brew forever in my head.

I’ve decided to start a ~blog~ to record my thoughts and experiences.

To be clear - this is NOT meant to be a polished magnum opus, but more of an unorganized collection of things I just want to get on paper (or bytes, rather).

Some rules:

Always human written. I will never use AI to write this for me. The point of this is to log my own thoughts, not give people another AI wall of text to endure.

Short and messy. As a perfectionist, I will be tempted to spend way too long making these perfect. I am challenging myself to not do that. Hopefully it makes it easier to digest, too.

Consistent. I’d love to publish these multiple times a week. For now, we’ll see if I can commit to once a week, since it’s better to start small.

Indeed, in the words of James Clear, author of Atomic Habits:

Just start. Start slow if you have to. Start small if you have to. Start privately if you have to. Just start.

So even if it’s far from perfect, here I am just starting my commitment. Hence, this post is my “initial commit”.

Hi, I’m Peter 👋.
